Introduction and Mission Statement

I never know how to start these things off. So.....
Hi, I'm Shane. Part time ESL teacher, full time film fan. Have been ever since I was a kid, with the first films I remember seeing on the big screen being a double bill of Star Wars and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. That was in the late 70s, and I have loved film ever since. I would say that, since then, I have seen, oh, at least a couple of thousand films - possibly more (in fact, I would put money on it being more).
What I have decided to do with this blog is, surprise surprise - film reviews. Yes, I know, real original. The only thing the internet has more than porn are idiots thinking that their opinion on movies somehow matters to anyone but themselves. But, you know what, who cares. We all do what we like, and a lot of us like to watch and talk about films.
I tend to watch between 5-10 films a week. I have no idea where that stands in terms of averages, but I know that, amongst my circles of friends, I am the Film Guy - so it's above our averages, at least.

Don't let the overall recency of that list fool you, though. My personal film collection stretches back to the early 1920s and covers a lot of genres, production costs and languages. So, I have a pretty wide net to cast and pick from.

Mission Statement
In this blog I, Shane, pledge to try my very best to watch (at least) one film a day and review said same film/s. I may not write a traditional review, but I will review it. It all depends on what my brain is feeling like, as to what sort of review you get.
I shall not be using star reviews as I find them very inaccurate.
